Tonight in our Attitudinal Healing class we focused on the 1st Principle of Attitudinal Healing, “The Essence of our Being is Love.”

We started and ended with a guided visualization that helped us to see ourselves as love. As the Light touched us, we saw ourselves as beautiful, radiant, emotionally strong, serene and happy. We saw Love reflected to us.

We read an excerpt from Teach Only Love by Jerry Jampolsky, one of the first students and teachers of ACIM. In this reading we learned that our essence is only love.

Whenever we are not feeling loving kindness, we are afraid. When we are afraid the fear takes many forms: we feel stressed, we find fault, we feel angry, we feel guilty, we feel abandoned, we see ourselves separate from others, we feel meaninglessness, we feel attached to outcomes (things, being right, being loved or having money). When we are afraid to feel angry at someone, we may feel hurt. When we let go of the blame, that is forgiveness.

We may forget that we are the Holy Child of God whether it’s through the busy doings in our mind or life in one way or another or our past pain. The ego gets something from the “sugar rush” of revenge for others or self-punishment. Either way it doesn’t last and makes us miserable. We can know that help is always available through the Holy Spirit in our mind. He will remind us of the Love that we are.

We took time to journal on the question, “With what or whom do I forget the awareness of my true essence?” By exploring this question, we were able to see what possible blocks are there to love. The more honest we can be in this, the more we can heal.

It can be as we forget our true essence when others are not sharing their consideration, respect or kindness. When others do not communicate with us as we would like. This feels like abandonment and so we forget our true nature as Love. We can instead remember that we can stop and listen to truth.  We can ask ourselves, “Do I want to be right or do I want peace of mind?”

I hope you will join us next week with our next principle, “Health is Inner Peace, Healing is Letting Go of Fear.” The Monday class is an open and drop in class so you can attend as your schedule permits. See this link: for all the details. The class is available at our Center, and through video and phone conferencing.

Our focus for our ministry this week tells us:

Produced by fear, the ego reproduces fear.
This is its allegiance, and this allegiance makes it treacherous to love because you are love.
Love is your power, which the ego must deny.

Since you’re here… …we have a small favor to ask. More people are reading our posts, listening to our audios and watching our videos than ever before but far fewer are donating for it. As an all-volunteer ministry, you can see why we need to ask for your help. MiraclesOne provides ACIM resources freely however it takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe in encouraging others to practically apply the Course principles in their lives – because it might just make the one difference in your life. If everyone who reads, listens or watches and likes what we offer helps to pay for it we can continue to afford our expenses and keep our resources FREE to all ACIM Students. Monthly Donors receive free gifts in appreciation for their support.
