Thoughts on Lesson 68

WBNewsletterTo hold a grievance is to forget who you are.  To hold a grievance is to see yourself as a body.

For a grievance or judgment to take hold in my mind, it does so because I am not seeing the truth either in myself or someone else. I am seeing what is false. I may be afraid of what I see. I may be resistant to what I see. I may be repelled by what I see. With the ego’s lead, I want whatever it is to be fixed externally so I don’t have to work on my own mind.

Here in today’s practice, and I know I have been using this already this morning, we are told to “determine now to see all these people as friends”. We are given a focus to use with each one who crosses our minds: “I would see you as my friend, that I may remember you are part of me and come to know myself.”

When I am resistant to seeing the truth that lies within anyone, I am not feeling safe. Yet, with joining with God as in these practices, safety is assured. Really, what more can be said when this lesson asks us to practice and practice it thoroughly today.  I know I had someone come to mind, and really it was over the last few days, and I saw how when I opened my mind on Monday to conversing with this person this lesson came into play. Today I reflect not only on that experience, but any experience I may had or may have with another.

I want to wake up in my Father’s Love. I want to see all in the Light of Love. This practice will assist me to do so.

Peace,
Rev. Deb

Since you’re here… …we have a small favor to ask. More people are reading our posts, listening to our audios and watching our videos than ever before but far fewer are donating for it. As an all-volunteer ministry, you can see why we need to ask for your help. MiraclesOne provides ACIM resources freely however it takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe in encouraging others to practically apply the Course principles in their lives – because it might just make the one difference in your life. If everyone who reads, listens or watches and likes what we offer helps to pay for it we can continue to afford our expenses and keep our resources FREE to all ACIM Students. Monthly Donors receive free gifts in appreciation for their support.
