Hello Mighty Companions!
We are 13 weeks into our Miracle Toolbox “I am safe in God” healing journey with our friend Jesus. This past week I had three different thoughts come up in the middle of the night on three separate nights. Although the words in the thoughts were different, all of them were manifestations of unconscious concerns about the Coronavirus catching up with me and trying to check me out. Knowing that I didn’t like how I was feeling, I finally decided to apply the Rules for Decision (T-30.I) and ask Jesus for his perspective on the situation. After spending time dialoguing with him during meditation, he helped me to realize that I was experiencing unconscious fear and guilt from the ego. He indicated that this was a lesson for me to work on at this time and at the end of the meditation assured me that I was going to be okay. Whew! I was so relieved to hear that from him.
This week we are taking a look at the section in the Text titled, The Ego’s Use of Guilt (T-5.V). Within this section, Jesus shares that the ego’s purpose is to engender fear within us, fear and guilt are the same, and whenever we experience guilt, we will also always fear punishment on some level. Wow! There’s a lot of stuff going on here and a lot of times without our realizing it. The good news is that we have a choice. He reminds us that both the ego and the Holy Spirit reside within our minds, and that we can consciously make a decision to turn to the Holy Spirit for insights about concerns that come up for us. In essence, that is what I did when I took time to consult with Jesus. When we take the time to listen to the Holy Spirit within us, it allows Him an opportunity to use his scraping tool to scrape off the layers of guilt that have built up in our minds over the years and reveal our guiltless foundation underneath.
A great lesson to add to our Miracle Toolbox this week is Lesson 70: My salvation comes from me. In this lesson Jesus teaches us about the choice between guilt and salvation that we have every moment of every day. And again, he asks us to try to reach the light within our minds during this practice meditation so that we can personally experience a moment of salvation for ourselves. Practicing this lesson helps us to take another step toward becoming true miracle workers. How exciting! This is one of my favorite practices for reaching the experience of true-perception because it is so easy to practice. Just imagine yourself taking Jesus’ hand and the two of you walking through the clouds to the light beyond for about fifteen minutes. I have found that it is one of the easier techniques to practice when trying to learn how to perceive the light with your spiritual sight. It is amazing how effective it can be after you get the hang of it. Happy practicing and good luck!
